Florida State has announced that they will sell alcohol during the 2019 season.
“We have worked closely with both FSU and Tallahassee police to monitor our alcohol sales at athletic venues, and we believe we have a good plan in place to continue a successful program at our football games,” said David Coburn, FSU’s Director of Athletics.
“We also benefit from having a fairly comprehensive guide of best practices drawn from the experiences with alcohol sales at other college and professional football venues around the country.
“We expect our fans who choose to take advantage of this program to do so responsibly." -FSU AD David Coburn
Florida State will designate five places in total that will serve alcohol, including two within Doak Campbell Stadium. The concession stands on the outside of the stadium will stop selling alcohol ten minutes before kick, and the two inside the stadium will stop selling alcohol at the end of the third quarter. For the sites inside the stadium, the alcohol will have to be consumed inside of designated areas and will not be allowed elsewhere.
