The Tampa Bay Rays (47-19) defeated the Texas Rangers (40-22) 8-3 on Friday night at Tropicana Field. The Rays have now won seven in a row and won the series opener in a three-game showdown between the teams with the top two records in baseball.
Isaac Paredes stole the show on Friday night, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double and six runs batted in.
Tyler Glasnow (1-0, 2.87) allowed just one earned run on one hit while striking out six and walking three in six innings of work.
