Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton suffered a torn right Achilles in his team's loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals Sunday (June 22) night, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN's Shams Charania on Monday (June 23).

"Breaking: Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton sustained a torn right Achilles tendon in Game 7 against Oklahoma City, sources tell ESPN. Haliburton played through a calf strain in the same leg during the NBA Finals for an opportunity to win a championship," Charania wrote on his X account. "Tyrese Haliburton and the Pacers authored one of most thrilling playoffs in NBA history. An unbelievable run."

Haliburton, 25, had previously suffered a strained calf injury during the first quarter of his team's Game 5 loss last Monday (June 16), but returned in the second with his calf wrapped and played in Games 6 and 7. The former Iowa State suffered the right Achilles injury while driving to the basket with 4:55 remaining in the first quarter, finishing the game with nine points on three 3-pointers.

Haliburton had averaged 17.3 points, 8.6 assists and 5.3 rebounds during the 2025 NBA Playoffs, which included a series-best 22 points in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
