South Florida authorities have apprehended more than ten individuals involved in a human smuggling ring in Fort Lauderdale.
Early Saturday morning, U.S. Border Patrol agents responded to an incident on North Ocean Boulevard, near the Sea Watch Restaurant, where they discovered an overturned boat on the shoreline.
The vessel's occupants included a Bahamian citizen and 11 Chinese migrants, all of whom were taken into custody.
Authorities have indicated that those responsible will face criminal charges.
