After a deferral, Miami Commissioners are expected to vote on a proposal limiting an elected official to term terms as mayor and two terms as city commissioner. Commissioner Damian Pardo says the way it works now you have term limits of eight years. This change would require a tweak in the city charter so voters would have the final say. If approved, and on the ballot this November, it could invalidate the victory of a candidate who has already served the maximum time.
