Today marks the start of the rainy season in Florida, but it sure felt like it started Monday. Accuweather's lead hurricane expert Alex DaSilva says that's a good thing because South Florida is in a severe drought. South Florida usually logs six inches in May, on Monday more than four inches of rain fell. The area is expected to be bone dry and we head into hurricane season. Miami-Dade's mayor is holding a press conference later this morning to discuss the importance of being prepared for severe weather and extreme heat.
